My Brief Personal Essay “About Me”

Hello,

Welcome to my teacher portfolio. My name is Teorah Williams and I recently graduated from Pace University with a Masters in Educational Technology Specialist.

I wanted to become a teacher because I enjoy helping students learn and use their expertise by expanding their knowledge in learning. Technology Education is the most exciting subject to teach and I really have the passion to integrate technology with every curriculum. I find it fun to learn how to incorporate technology with different subjects to discover how learning can become interesting when using technology.

        

I decided to pursue my career in Education when I was a substitute teacher. I have had the pleasure of teaching in different school environments in all grade levels. This experience was extremely fulfilling and has provided me with the skills and the drive to seek a position in which I can expand my impact in the school environment. My goal is to provide training to teachers in the use of current technology to meet curriculum goals and ensure integration of student computer competencies as outlined by the State.

I believe my responsibility, as an Instructional Technology Specialist would be to maintain current knowledge of technology and instructional practices that relate to the use of the 21^st century to enhance the knowledge of the students’ technology skills. I also believe in motivating and teaching all educators on how to integrate technology in their current lesson plans to reach all different learning styles for students, which will increase the impact of their academic performance level.

Accomplishing my goal as an educator will have a great impact on students’ everyday life.  I always encourage students by reminding them they are good at what they do as long as they keep trying and please get the “I CAN’T” out of their minds. Teaching is a profession that never ends and can become exhausting, but with the passion I have in my heart for teaching it will outweigh the exhaustion. Being a great teacher requires understanding of students, being compassionate with enthusiasm, and having patience will help me provide the best education for every learner.

Hopefully, my portfolio will clarify my educational views along with my teaching styles. My goal is to emphasize on my strengths that will help me be useful with all Educators.
